The Ace Space
The Ace space was an interactive and educational project surrounding the topic of sexuality, in specific asexuality. It’s something many people don’t know much about and often have many preconceptions about. We wanted to educate and introduce people to this topic in a playful and approachable manner by letting strangers have an open conversation and learn from each others stories. We helped start the conversation by handing them cards with a short informative story/text followed by a question like “Do you know what your sexuality is? When did you first learn about the label you identify with?”. While telling these personal stories, we let them paint to create a bond over making art and being vulnerable together. It was an inspiring and touching project that we created for the MOMO Festival (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) and successfully carried out on the festival grounds.
